Gold Rush to Golden Gate

 

Day 1: Home - San Francisco

Depart from home aboard an aircraft bound for San Francisco. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour including Chinatown and Japantown, NorthBeach, the Mission District, Castro District, Haight-Ashbury, Fisherman's Wharf, Telegraph Hill and Nob Hill, the Golden Gate Bridge, and more! Tonight, explore the Union Square area.

Day 2: San Francisco (L, D)

Meet your guide for a culinary walking city tour. In the evening, enjoy a gourmet cooking class where you not only prepare the food, but eat it too!

Day 3: San Francisco (B)

Today spend some time along Pier 39. Enjoy fresh seafood at Fisherman's Wharf and then make your way to Ghirardelli Square for a taste some of the best chocolate in the world at the renowned Ghirardelli Chocolate Manufactory. Visit the Cannery, and make your way to Lombard Street, the crookedest street in the world.  Free evening.

Day 4: San Francisco (B, D)

This morning, embark on a self-guided walking tour of Nob Hill and Chinatown – the largest of its kind outside of China itself. Visit the Cable Car Museum. This evening, take part in a cheese-making class where you will learn the art of cheese making and sample some delicacies as well!

Day 5: Napa Valley

Today you will make an excursion to the Napa Valley. Make a stop at the Jelly Belly Factory to see how the confections are made, then carry on to Viansa Winery and Italian Marketplace for a wine and food pairing lesson. In the afternoon, visit a premier culinary institution and tour the facilities.

Day 6: San Francisco (B, D)

Start with breakfast before boarding a boat to the infamous Alcatraz Island. After touring the abandoned prison, return to the mainland for a visit to the Boudin Bakery, credited as the first and original bakers of sourdough bread. Watch the bakers work, and meet the Master Baker himself! Free evening.

Day 7: San Francisco – Home (B)

Venture down to the historic Ferry Building Marketplace, home of the Farmer’s Market (subject to seasonality and schedule) and shop the grand Embarcadero Center. This afternoon is your flight home.
