Day 1: Home - New York
This morning, depart on your flight to the “Big Apple”. Upon arrival, enjoy a short panoramic tour of Manhattan. Settle in to your hotel, and expore Times Square at night!
Day 2: New York (B, D)
Today, you will visit NBC Studio in Rockefeller Center for a behind the scenes tour of the production areas of several television shows. After, spend some time exploring Rockefeller Center - a “city within a city” that you could easily spend a day within this complex of 21 buildings. You may also wish to visit 5th Avenue to see St. Patrick’s Cathedral, one of the largest churches in the United States, and the famous Trump Tower. This evening, dinner at a local restaurant before a visit the Empire State Building and its Observatory and shopping at Macy’s Department Store.
Day 3: New York
Start your day with breakfast and then head off by subway to Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan Island to catch a ferry for the short ride to the Statue of Liberty National Monument. Then board another ferry for Ellis Island which was the nation’s main point of entry into the United States for millions of immigrants from 1892-1924. The remainder of the afternoon is free to make your way to Ground Zero, site of the former World Trade Center and to discover the Financial District. A few blocks west from Ground Zero is the site of the world famous Brooklyn Bridge. Choose to walk or subway to Chinatown and Little Italy or head directly to SOHO and Greenwich Village for some endless shopping and sightseeing. This evening, enjoy dinner on your own before your first Broadway play.
Day 4: New York (B, D)
After breakfast this morning, enjoy a tour of Radio City Music Hall, the 1932 Art Deco theatre famous for its spectacular musical productions with the Rockettes and other live concerts. Later, make your way to Central Park to relax and find a comfortable spot to eat your lunch that you picked up form one of New York’s world famous delis. This afternoon you will be delighted and amazed by a tour of the elegant 4 block cultural world known as Lincoln Center, home of New York State Theatre and Avery Fisher Hall. Tonight after dinner at a local restaurant, enjoy an off Broadway play.
Day 5: New York (B, D)
Today, head off to the historic neighborhood of Harlem for a guided walking tour of one of New York's most intriguing neighborhoods, rich in culture, political activity, ideas, ideals, religion and people. Later, experience a drama workshop of your choice related to a Broadway show you have seen. You may also want to do a little shopping at Macy’s and the endless Garment District or Bloomingdales. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant followed by an exciting evening people watching in Times Square.
Day 6: New York (B, D)
The day begins with breakfast at a local restaurant before making your way to the fabulous Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the largest and most prestigious art museums in the world. Lunch is on your own prior to a visit to the United Nations to experience the chambers of the Security Council, the Trusteeship Council, the Economic and Social Council as well as exhibits, an art collection and finally the General Assembly Hall, the largest and best known room. This evening, your farewell dinner will be in a local restaurant prior to another Broadway play.
Day 7: New York - Home
This morning your coach will pick you up for your transfer to the airport for your flight home.
