Classics to Comedy - London Theater and Arts

Day 1: Home - New York

Depart on your overnight flight to Europe. Meals will be served at appropriate times and earphones will be supplied so you may enjoy the full length movie and the many audio channels available.

Day 2: London (D)

Today you arrive in London and will be met at the airport for a guided transfer to your hotel. Enroute, take a sightseeing tour of London, including Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and Whitehall. After arriving at your hotel, you will settle in and enjoy some free time. Overnight in London.

Day 3: London (B, D)

Enjoy an early breakfast on your first full day in London before setting off on a guided walking sightseeing tour. Stroll through Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and then on to Parliament, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey etc. The afternoon is free to continue on your own to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards or to visit London’s numerous world class museums. Some “must see” museums include: The National Gallery, The British Museum, Tate Modern, Tate Britain, Victoria and Albert Museum, Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, Museum of London, The Royal Academy, and the National Portrait Gallery. This evening you may choose to attend an optional theatre performance in London’s famous west end theatre district.

Day 4: London, Stratford, Warwick (B, D)

Begin today with breakfast at your hotel then depart for the small town of Stratford in Warwickshire where Shakespeare was born in 1564. See Henley Street and Holy Trinity Church then to Anne Hathaway’s thatched roof cottage in Shottery. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, the number one theatre for Shakespearean productions, then continue on to Warwick where you will visit the magnificent castle on the Avon River with its exquisite grounds, strutting peacocks and treasure filled interior. Later today return to London for overnight.

Note: An alterative for today is to attend a matinee performance at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre which would require you to omit the visit to Warwick.

Day 5: London (B, D)

Today after breakfast you will have a guided visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre where you will see both the theatre and museum. After, head to the Theatre Museum near Covent Garden for an “Introduction to the Theatre Museum”. This evening after dinner, enjoy a walking tour of London’s theatre district with a local guide.

Day 6: London (B)

Today you will use your one day hop on hop off ticket which provides a unique way to visit many of London’s famous monuments and museums on a double decker bus. After a guided back stage tour of the famous Drury Lane Theatre, enjoy the afternoon sights and sounds of London on your own. See sights such as the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, St. James’s Palace and Buckingham Palace to catch the changing of the guard. Tonight after dinner you will make your way to the west end to attend a London Theatre performance.

Day 7: London - Home (B)

Cheerio London! Transfer to airport for your flight home arriving back home on the same day.
