Interior Design in the Big Apple
Day 1: Home - New York
This morning, depart on your flight to the “Big Apple”. Upon arrival, enjoy a short panoramic tour of Manhattan. Settle in to your hotel, and expore Times Square at night!
Day 2: New York (B, D)
After breakfast this morning, you will make your way to the Museum of Modern Art to see its collection of modern and contemporary art. Afterwards, visit Rockefeller Center, a city within a cit that one could easily spend a day within its complex of 21 buildings. See the NBC Experience Store and Radio City Music Hall. Wander down the famous 5th Avenue, and get a real life look at Trump Tower, St Patricks Cathedral, and FAO Schwartz. This evening is free for you to enjoy the excitement of the "Big Apple".
Day 3: New York (B, D)
Start the day with a tasty breakfast then head off to the New York School of Interior Design for a guided tour and talk. Have lunch in Central Park, and then visit the Asia Society and Museum, an inspirational source for interior designers looking to incorporate ancient and modern themes into their work. Tonight you will see your first Broadway show.
Day 4: New York
This morning you will take the subway to Battery Park at the southern tip of Manhattan Island where you will catch a ferry for the short ride to the Statue of Liberty National Monument. Disembark at Ellis Island before returning to the mainland to discover the Financial District, and Ground Zero - site of the former World Trade Center. Also nearby is the South Street Seaport, Chinatown, and the Brooklyn Bridge. This evening, shop Macy's!
Day 5: New York (B, D)
This morning you will visit the Decoration and Design Building, home to the world's most elegant interior design showrooms for a guided tour. Afterwards, walk to nearby Bloomindales for some lunch and shopping. Tonight, enjoy another Broadway play!
Day 6: New York (B)
Today visit the New York Design Center - an essential resource to designers and architects. Then, make your way to Little Italy, SOHO, and Greenwich Village for some endless shopping and sightseeing. Make sure you plan a stop on Canal Street for some great bargain shopping! This evening, visit the Empire State Building and its Observatory. The New York skyride inside is an optional visit.
Day 7: New York - Home
Until next time, New York! Your coach will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for your flight home.
